ESSEX, ON, April 22, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- It appears the wildly popular hit TV show "Dr. 90210" is receiving another cast upgrade. Dr. Gary Motykie, a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon who has appeared on the show previously in several guest appearances, has agreed to an increased role in the upcoming season of the show. While it's not clear or not whether or not the agreement incorporates a main role in the cast, both sides have reported an increase in expected appearances and duration. Sources at the show declined comment when asked specifically how much of an increase in appearances are currently planned.
An anonymous source for the show was able to add, "Dr. Motykie is one of our most popular guest appearances of all time. The female potential has given him the nickname of 'Hotykie' for his youthful good lucks and charm. We simply had to make a deal to bring him back. We actually haven't had any kind of demand like this for any of our other cameos so we decided to listen to our audience since they're ultimately the ones who drive ratings and revenue."
The show centers on celebrity plastic surgeons in the upscale Beverly Hills 90210 zip code who are filmed both professionally and in their home lives. It was largely inspired by the popular "Nick/Tuck" show which was an immediate success with network audiences. While the show is not universally considered an award winning television series, it boasts some of the higher ratings in regard to network reality TV shows. The show has aired since 2004 and continues to be an Entertainment Television staple in their broadcast lineup.
Dr. Motykie has also appeared on Dr. Phil, MTV, CBS news, Discovery Health, People Magazine, and the New York Times. While the cult-like following is not altogether unusual for a TV celebrity, it is somewhat unprecedented in the plastic surgery community.
